About MortgageRateToday.ca
MortgageRateToday.ca is a free Canadian mortgage rate board run by the MITEY network. We read rates off lenders' own websites, date every one, show them beside Bank of Canada benchmarks and give you the tools to turn a rate into dollars. No lender pays to be listed or ranked.
What we do
- Collect published rates from 18 lenders' own pages (last collection Nov 2, 2026) and show the lowest for each term and insured status.
- Show Bank of Canada benchmarks with their own dates: the policy rate, prime, posted rates, bond yields and what borrowers actually paid on new mortgages.
- Explain why rates move, and calculate what a rate, a penalty or a variable-rate bet would cost you.
What we don't do
- We're not a lender or a mortgage brokerage, and we don't arrange mortgages.
- We don't publish "exclusive" or unpublished rates, and we never call a collected rate "live".
- We don't take money from lenders for placement.
How the site is paid for
The board and calculators are free and need no sign-up. If you ask us to, we can put you in touch with a person in the MITEY network to talk through a mortgage; that is the only way your details reach anyone. We don't receive your calculator inputs.
